Kettle Corn – The Remix
My
Cinnamon Popcorn
came from finding a recipe for
kettle corn.
I made the recipe and just ended up with sweet popcorn. It tasted more like popcorn coated with Karo’s syrup than any brown kettle corn I’d ever had. It was disappointing, so I decided to mix it up!I wanted more of a sugar coating on my kettle corn and I wanted TASTE! To give the popcorn more of a sugar coating, I cut the popcorn going into the popper in half. This essentially quadrupled my sugar’s coating ability. Cinnamon came to mind for flavoring. I thought cinnamon would look great on the corn and really spice things up, so decided to go heavy on this ingredient (about 2 tsp). Viola! Three or four minutes later the popcorn came out thickly and evenly coated. The two teaspoons of cinnamon were a uniform part of the coating with no cinnamon clumps throughout the batch. It was perfect. So use the recipes, but play with them as well. Don’t be afraid to flavor them differently or alter the preparation to suit your tastes. The worst that can happen is that you loose a batch. No big deal. Experiment and enjoy these Primo popcorn recipes. I’d start with the
Cinnamon Popcorn.
Just beware, it’s so good, you may have to make two batches. Enjoy!

Quality Ingredients = Quality Product
The key to getting the most out of a popcorn recipe is to use great ingredients. Buy ingredients the way you buy clothes - the best you can afford. The better the ingredients, the better the product. That doesn't mean that you should run out to Dean and Deluca. It just means that we all have choices in the supermarket and every small choice influences the outcome of our recipe. Go for the highest quality, natural or organic products you can afford. Being choosy doesn’t mean being snobby, just particular. And you can be particular anywhere, St. Helena, California or Decorah, Iowa. Enough said.
Make it Your Way!
Popcorn is a very versatile snack. So its recipes tend to be the same way. You can actually bend them a little or a lot to fit your own personal tastes. If you’re new to cooking, I suggest following the recipe exactly the way it’s written the first time around. Pay attention to what’s going on with the ingredients and the process, then make changes the next time you prepare the recipe.
